Customizable Suites Available at Avenue Road’s The Davies

For Toronto's discerning high-end home buyers, the ability to customize the size and layout of living spaces is often a complex—or downright impossible—prospect in condominium living. While retrofitted homes and new-build single properties can be designed to meet the specific needs of their residents, urban condominiums don't typically offer the same level of freedom. Currently in pre-construction, Brandy Lane Homes' The Davies strives to provide an exception to the general rule.

During pre-construction, buyers have the freedom to customize the layouts of their units, with the possibility to both reconfigure individual layouts and—oftentimes—combine separate suites into unique living spaces. Designed by SMV Architects, the boutique 9-storey building at 281 Avenue Road was planned with 42 suites, though this number has gradually been reduced as The Davies' future residents combine floorplans to create unique homes.

Now, with plans for the building soon to be finalized, prospective buyers can continue take advantage of the opporutnity for a limited time. Notwithstanding the possibilities for uniquely tailored suites, however, The Davies' individual layouts offer spacious configurations in their own right. Ranging in size from 1,163 ft² to over 3,000 ft², the suites feature an array of two-bedroom floorplans, with the six penthouse suites featuring either a "family lounge" or "great room" as an additional living space.

In addition to the luxurious interiors by Lukas Design—all of which feature private elevator entry and professional grade appliances—The Davies will provide residents with a variety of outdoor spaces. The suites look out onto a private terrace, each of which will feature a gas barbecue connection, with ample space for comfortable outdoor entertaining.

In terms of communal amenities, the The Davies' walnut-paneled lobby will feature a 24-hour concierge. Fully equipped gym and conference facilities will also be available to residents, in addition to the luxurious 'Avenue Room' (above), which will host guests for larger gatherings. The project will also include lush landscaping by NAK Design Group.

Promising a panoramic view of the Toronto skyline, the building will be capped with a sizeable rooftop terrace. Featuring a fully stocked bar, a private sun-bathing and reading area (seen above), as well as a social lounge space, the landscaped terrace will overlook Robertson Davies Park to its south. (As part of the project, the park space will also be significantly enhanced with new plantings, landscaping, and outdoor furniture).

We will keep you updated as The Davies continues to take shape, with a closer look at the building's architectural expression and material execution upcoming.
